Chrome ore prices fall in China, FeCr under pressure

Chinese chrome ore prices took a dive today, with UGS falling to around $190 per mt and 40% concentrate to around $193. Chinese chrome stocks at major ports fell slightly in the week ended July 6 to 3,123,000 mt from 3,134,000 the previous week. South African stocks rose to 2,374,000 mt from 2,333,000 during that period, while Iranian and Albanian stocks fell.

Meanwhile, Chinese stainless mills are actively bidding at rmb 7,300 per mt for spot ferrochrome, but most sellers were resisting—so far.
