PCCBakki to officially start Si production next week

PCC BakkiSilicon’s 32,000-mtpy silicon metal smelter in Iceland will officially start next week when it begins to process raw materials. Because of United Silicon’s pollution problems, environmental authorities have only given the company a license to operate until Nov. 8, 2033. Most of the silicon is expected to go to Wacker.
