Stronger rand poses problems for South Africa’s FeCr sellers

The election of Cyril Ramaphosa to head the ANC and his expected accession to be South Africa’s next President has boosted the rand to about ZAR12.5:$1. The rise, however, poses problems for the country’s mineral producers, including ferrochrome and manganese, who will get less for the export sales.
