The skid of ferroalloy prices on the ZCE continued today, with the January contract price falling rmb310 to rmb8,170 per mt on volume of 173,724 contracts. The May price fell rmb238 to rmb6,712 on volume of 196,776 contracts. For the first time the May contract had more volume than January.
Despite some reports that manganese ore prices were up on the basis of higher silicomanganese prices, this obviously is not the case on the ZCE. The January silicomanganese price fell rmb266 to rmb8,394 while the May contract price fell rmb200 to rmb 7,338.
