ZCE’s FeSi contract returning to reality

The ZCE’s ferrosilicon contract is starting to come into reality with the Chinese government expected to start lifting its power restrictions to some plants by the end of the year. The January contract price fell rmb126 to rmb8,910 today on volume of only 249,392 contracts, while the May contract price was down rmb36 to rmb7,208 on volume of 145,074 contracts.

The siicomanganese contract also lost steam but the January contract showed a rmb24 increase to rmb8,860 per mt on volume of 292,870 contracts while the May contract was up rmb24 to rmb7,700 on v0lume of 74,172 contracts.
