US government self initiates a dumping case against Chinese aluminum sheets

The US International Trade Commission is launching an antidumping case against Chinese aluminum producers covering imports of common alloy sheets. This is the first time since 1985 that such a probe wasn’t first originated by the private sector. The last self-initiated antidumping duty investigation occurred in 1985 against semiconductors from Japan.
