No quote or no business

A solution has been proposed to one of the problems the indexes are plagued with, i.e., unchanged prices due to lack of business. “When there is no business in any given pricing period, the index provider should say ‘no quote’ or ‘no business.’ This way buyers and sellers know that there is nothing behind the price. It would also force both parties to come up with a fixed price,” he noted.
