All this ferrochrome is going somewhere

The US stainless business MUST be booming, at least if you look at imports. For the first eight months of 2016, US imports of high and charge chrome (over 4% C) were 371,339 mt for a monthly average of 46,417 mt vs. a monthly average for all of 2015 of 34,933 mt. The countries that significantly increased their exports to the US were: Kazakhstan, Turkey, and South Africa. The losers were Zimbabwe and India.
